제목 Effects of additives in inorganic-hybrid binder for mineral wool insulation boards
초록 Mineral wools,in general, have a high-temperature stability, fire-resistance, and reducetoxicity. Due to these characteristics and low raw material cost, mineral woolcan be widely used in various industries such as construction and ship-making.In this study, silica-sol base binders with additives such as fumed silica,silicates, methyltrimethoxy silane, or polysiloxane are utilized in the inorganic-hybridbinders to modify the microstructure and their influence on insulation boardproperties is investigated. As a result, it is found that this binder formedclot-like hubs at junctions by embedding fibers. This structure allows theinsulation board to withstand a higher compression stress while havingequivalent thermal insulation and waterproof performance as a phenolic binder.
