In this work, we have fabricated a flexible, self-powered, capacitive electronic skin sensor from an alginate polymer dot (A-PD) embedded mineralized hydrogel-based energy storage unit in combination with a chitosan carbon dot based solar cell unit for energy harvesting. The self-powered facility was achieved through the miniaturization in combination with both units. The A-PD embedded mineralized hydrogel of poly(acrylic acid)/CaCO3/laponite along with polyaniline electrodes acts as a pressure/strain sensor and energy storage component. The sp2 network of the A-PD forms bridge of electrons between the ionized polymer and metal ion, which provides increased electrochemical performance and stability, resulting in the enhancement of the efficiency of the self-powered device. The device can distinguish human motions and produces discrete responses for handwriting by harvesting the outdoor sunlight energy.
