In this study, the urea formaldehyde (UF) resins used were modified with four scavengers. The scavenger content was 3 and 7 wt.% of UF resin solid content. Curing behavior was observed from the DSC, FT-IR, and X-ray an analysis results. After curing, crystallinity of UF resins as a function of scavenger were decreased. In the case of amorphous structures, it is clear that the amount of -CH2- cross-links per volume of cured resin is higher. The -CH- stretching of cured UF resins as a function of scavenger content is increased. The overall its value was in the order: UF resin + tannin powder > UF resin + silica powder > UF resin + RHF > UF resin + MDF flour > control UF resin. |
