제목 Interfacial Evaluation and Microfailure Mechanisms of Single-Fiber/Thermosetting Composites on UV and Thermal Curing using Micromechanical Test
초록 Thermosetting resins such as epoxyacrylate, unsaturated polyester (UP) and vinyl ester can be cured by thermal process involved room temperature, ultraviolet (UV) radiation and combination of above both two methods. UV curing process has a very attractive advantages compared to thermal curing. Their major advantages are fast speed cure process, low energy consumption due to operating at low or room temperature, and environmental-friendly because of solvent free. In this study, interfacial properties and microfailure modes of single-fiber/thermosetting composites with different curing processes were investigated using micromechanical test. After curing, the shrinkage phenomena and microfailure modes of fiber in matrix were observed by optical microscope, and then they were compared to correlate with curing processes and the kinds of fiber and matrix. The IFSS was measured by microdroplet and double matrix composite tests. The fracture signals of reinforcing single fiber were detected by acoustic emission (AE).
