Controlled 3D Network Structure of Gyroid Structures using High-Molecular-Weight Block Copolymer Self-assembly |

Materialization of well-defined nanostructures has currently been a challenge in response to the increasing demands for high-performance applications such as bio-sensors, water filtration, and nanoscale replication. In this study, a feasible approach to the direct development of gyroid (GYR) nanostructure was proposed using high-molecular-weight block copolymer (BCP) (Mn > 250 kg/mol) of polystyrene-b-poly(methyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PMMA). The morphological transition to GYR were successfully produced during the solvent vapor annealing (SVA) process due to the unique composition (ϕPS = 0.640 ~0.660) of the BCPs. This result suggests its feasible structural tunability to the GYR structure, which would open the possible avenues applicable to other affordable materials. |
