A technique which insert thin LiF layer between active layer and cathode has previously been used to enhance the performance of organic solar cells for devices fabricated either by thermal deposition of low-molecular-weight compounds or by solution casting of polymers. Insertion of thin layers of LiF increases both the open circuit voltage and the fill factor of the device, yielding increased power conversion efficiency. In the present work, we study the performance of the photovoltaic devices as a function of Li:Al alloy than LiF layer. We measured the work function and valence band of Li:Al nano layer surfaces, which were evaporated from single Li:Al alloy sources, by using ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy and fabricated the device utilizing Li:Al alloy. We show that the introduction of the Li:Al cathode can reduce the leakage current and series resistance and it also work acting charge collection and transporting electron at the cathode interface. |
