Synthesis and Field-Effect Transistor Behavior of New Oligo-Selenophene Derivatives |

New selenophene-based semiconducting materials, Se2FL and Se2Ph, were synthesized via the Suzuki coupling reaction. Due to extended π-conjugation, efficient hole injection, and good alignment of the molecules, the device of Se2FL and Se2Ph exhibited good FET performances. Moreover, the FET performances of the oligomers depended on the substrate temperature (Tsub). To determine the source of the TFT performances on Tsub, we studied the thin-film morphologies at various temperatures. Through studies using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM), we could access the behavior and structure of the thin film devices and determine the correlation between molecular alignment and device performances. Detailed characteristic of the oligomers will be presented. |
