Preparation and properties of nanocomposites with Chitosan/Xanthan and graphene oxide |

Polyelectrolyte hydrogels were formed by chitosan(CS), xanthan gum(XG) and graphene oxide. Graphene have attracted intensive attention for biomedical application. Polyelectrolyte hydrogels formed by CS and XG are also promising materials with properties of biocompatibility which are able to use for encapsulation and controlled release of food ingredients,cell,enzymes and therapeutic agents. Many papers reported that carbon based material can improve mechanical strength for composites. In this study, as an inorganic material, graphene oxide was used to enhance the material strength of XG/CS composites by controlling pH and mixing method. There are 4 types of CS/XG composites with different amount of GO (0, 5, 10, 15wt%). In this study,the structure and thermal stability of the composites have been investigated by the X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). Other properties were also investigated by universal testing machine and so on. |
