제목 | AFM Study on Nanoscratch-healing Behaviour of Copolymers Bearing Hindered Urea Bonds |
초록 | Polyurea polymers with superb mechanical strength and good self-recoverability characteristics are of key significance for daily life applications. These features enable the crosslinked polyurea to be used in coatings, adhesives and matrices for composite materials. Hindered urea bonds are formed by reaction of bulky amine and isocyanates, and HUB provides self-healing property to the cross-linked polymer due to its reversibility. The reversibility of HUB and catalyst-free features can make the polymer recyclable and low-cost polymeric materials with high-performance. To explore more advanced self-healing (SH) property, two different crosslinkers were studied via atomic force microscopy (AFM). Elastic modulus and hardness were also recorded by nanoindentation as these properties influence the SH capability of the polymer.
