PLGA and PCL are widely used for tissue engineering scaffold because of their biocompatibility, biodegradability and non-toxicity. As a processing method of these materials, we have been used electrospinning technique which is simply used to fabricate ultra fine fibers from a polymer solution. This method is very simple process, low cost and a particularly useful method for preparation of biomimetic 3D scaffolds. In this study, we first optimized conditions to fabricate nano-/micro-sized hybrid fibrous mats by electrospinning with two separated nozzles from PLGA and PCL solution for biomimetic 3D hybrid scaffolds. Electrospun fibers were characterized by SEM, image analysis and biodegradation analysis. We investigated human adult fibroblasts’ behavior on these nano-/micro-sized hybrid fibrous mats and characterized by SEM and MTT assay. As a result, proliferation of fibroblasts on these hybrid fibrous mats was higher than that on each nanofibrous mats and microfiber mats. |
