제목 Thermal and Impact Behaviors of Tetrafunctional Epoxy Resin-reinforced with Epoxidized Linseed Oil
초록 Epoxidized linseed oil (ELO) was synthesized by reaction of linseed oil with glacial acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide. ELO was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and gel permeation chromatography. The ELO was blended with tetrafunctional epoxy resins (4-EP) to obtain modified networks having ELO contents of 10 to 50 phr. The thermal properties of the 4-EP/ELO blends were investigated using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA). The impact behaviors of the 4-EP/ELO blends were studied by means of the Izod impact strength measurements. Impact strength of the 4-EP/ELO blends was found to be significantly improved upon the addition of ELO owing to high intermolecular interactions in the 4-EP/ELO blends.
