In this work, silver (Ag) nanoparticles were decorated onto the multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) by chemical reduction and Ag-doped MWNTs (Ag-MWNTs)/polyaniline (PA) composites were prepared by oxidation polymerization. The effect of the Ag-MWNTs on electrochemical properties of the Ag-MWNTs/PA composites was investigated. It was found that highly dispersed Ag nanoparticles could be decorated on functionalized MWNTs. Also, the Ag-MWNTs were successfully coated with PA. From the cyclic voltammograms (CV), Ag-MWNTs showed an increase of current density compared with pristine MWNTs. Furthermore, Ag-MWNTs/PA composites exhibited larger current density than Ag-MWNTs. This meant that the electrochemical performance of the composites were improved due to the synergistic effect between Ag nanoparticles and PA. |
