Hydrogen, one of the most popular energies, is mainly produced by a fuel processor including hydrocarbon reforming process and water gas shift reaction. However, such fuel processor generate not only hydrogen, but also COX as products which lead to extra separation process. Catalytic methane decomposition (CMD) reaction is attracting strategy since it produces only hydrogen and carbon. Red mud is an industrial waste generated during the aluminum hydroxide production process from bauxite. In this study, we synthesize nickel doped red mud catalysts for fix-beded catalytic methane decomposition reaction and confirm the effect of reaction temperature and gas hour space velocity (ghsv) on catalytic methane decomposition. We are going to present the excellent performance of the synthesized Ni doped red mud catalysts on catalytic methane decomposition in this presentation. |
