제목 Studies on the three-dimensional texture of the micro-structures of nylon6/montmorillonite nanocomposites
초록 Structural evolutions of Nylon6/Montmorillonite nanocomposites during zone-drawing and annealing of the pressed film were studied using small- and wide- angle X-ray scattering, TEM and DSC. The micro-structure of Nylon6/Montmorillonite nanocomposite is composed of four components such as α- and γ- forms of nylon6 crystal, amorphous nylon 6 and clay sheets. The structural relationship between those four components is essential to understanding the origin of enhancement of mechanical properties in Nylon6/Montmorillonite nanocomposites. In this study, the change of the relative orientation between clay sheets and two nylon crystals and crystallization behavior of each crystalline phase during zone-drawing and annealing was monitored using synchrotron radiation source and the three dimensional texture was also studied by shooting X-ray at three different principal directions. The pressed film showed the planar orientation with both the clay sheets and hydrogen-bonded sheets in the nylon6 crystal oriented parallel to the film surface. The crystal structure of the pressed film was mainly γ form. Two small angle maximum at q=0.12 nm-1 and 0.28 nm-1 were found along the direction perpendicular to the film surface indicating that the lamellar were regularly spaced perpendicular to the clay sheet. The crystal structure of the drawn film had the three-dimensional texture with mixed α- and γ-forms. The chain axis is along the drawing direction and both the hydrogen-bonded sheets and clay sheets are oriented parallel to the film surface. The small angle maxima at q= 0.64 nm-1 was found along the drawing axis indicating that the lamellar were regularly spaced along the drawing direction which is parallel to the clay sheet, contrary to the pressed film. This orientation difference of lamellar was confirmed with TEM micrographs of the microtomed films stained with OsO4.
