Global plastic production is rapidly increasing and is threatening the eco-system over the whole world.. To mitigate the plastic pollution, the use of biodegradable plastics is attracting attention, and the way to treat conventional conductive polymers (CPs) is also required. The biodegradability of CPs could be achieved via superworm’s ingestion behavior. Conventional CPs, including poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS), melanin (Mel), polypyrrole (PPy), polyaniline (PANI), polydopamine (PDA) were fabricated in the form of biomimetic nanostructure film using montmorillonite (MMT) clay. The biodegradability and biocompatibility of CPs were investigated through chemical composition changes, the viability of superworms. |
