제목 | Cascade array of quantum dot with Au nanoparticle in TiO2 Nanowire for efficient photoelectrochemical water splitting |
초록 | Photo-electrochemical water-splitting have gained much attention as a means of producing hydrogen energy. To fully utilize sunlight upon the process, inorganic semiconductors have been widely studied because of their superior optoelectronic properties. However, they suffered from the poor charge separation accompanied with significant recombination. In addition, defective interface between sensitizer and TiO2 can also lead to the activity drop because of charge trapping. To solve these challenges, we introduced the type II heterostructure to facilitate charge separation within sensitizers. Furthermore, Au nanocrystals(NCs) were incorporated into the interface between TiO2 and sensitizer to recover the defective sites and pave an electron channel. Herein, TiO2 nanowire was firstly decorated with Au NCs. Then, CdS and CdSe NCs were sequentially deposited onto TiO2/Au structure. As a result, it was revealed that the CdS/CdSe heterostructure showed the largely enhanced photo-current density compared to each ones. Moreover, presence of Au NCs increase the photo-activity further, with decreasing the recombination rate of charge carriers at the interface of TiO2 NW and CdS NCs. |
