제목 | High performance smart fluids composed of degradable constituents |
초록 | The disposal of conventional electrorheological (ER) fluids could potentially release toxic chemicals, resulting in environmental and health risk. Here, we describe the fabrication of ecoresorbable smart fluids by employing various biodegradable metal-doped SiO2/TiO2 hollow nanoparticles (HNPs) as the electroresponsive material and soybean oil as the insulating medium. Doping of the bioresorbable metals results in enhanced dielectric properties and optimized electrical conductivities. Both characteristics play a crucial role in enhancing the electroresponse of the ER fluids, fit well by the Wagner model. Additionally, the smart fluids display outstanding anti-sedimentation properties, attributed to the minimal impact of metal dopants and the porous structure of the HNPs.
