제목 Investigating the correlation between Organic Transistor Performance and Semiconductor-Dielectric Interlayer Modifications
초록 It has been known that the physical and chemical properties at semiconductor-dielectric interface significantly affect the performance parameters in organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). However, there has been only few studies reported in a systematic way. In this work, we introduced various surface modifications on the semiconductor-dielectric interface while employing the identical gate dielectric (polyimide) and active channel (pentacene) materials to address the interplay between dielectric surface chemistry and OTFT performance. For surface modification, we deposited a variety of very thin films such as self-assembled monolayers, vapor-deposited films, spin-coated polymers, and/or additional gas treatment on top of dielectrics before evaporating active layer and source/drain electrodes. We observed the strong correlation between the interfacial modifications and OTFT performance parameter such as carrier mobility, threshold voltage, sub-threshold swing, and current on/off ratio.
