Influence of PEG molecular weight on the thermal properties of P(HB-co-HHx)/PEG blends |

Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) (P(HB-co-HHx), which is a new member of the polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) family, has been studied extensively. We have recently investigated thermal behavior of spin-coated films of PHB-co-HHx copolymer. It is also important to investigate the thermal behavior of P(HB-co-HHx) in the presence of other polymers like poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG). In this study, P(HB-co-HHx) blends with a PEG (Mw 1500, 3400) content of 2, 10, 20 wt% were prepared from chloroform solution. 2D correlation spectroscopy was applied to investigate thermal behavior of thin films of P(HB-co-HHx)/PEG blends. The details of 2D correlation spectra of P(HB-co-HHx)/PEG blends will be discussed.
