제목 TiO2-coated Upconversion Nanoparticles: Application for Highly Efficient PDT using NIR light
초록  In this work, UCN@TiO2 core-shell nanostructures were developed in order to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional PDT agents. Instead of organic Photo Sensitizer molecules, TiO2 shell was exploited as ROS generator and activated by emission of UCN upon the illumination of 980 nm light. UCN with carbon doped-TiO2 shell was also developed to extend the absorption of TiO2 shell into the UV and visible light range. Therefore, under the NIR illumination, carbon-doped TiO2 can absorb more efficiently the emitted light from UCN and is subsequently expected to show higher ROS generation activity compared with neat TiO2. After confirming ROS production using 980 nm laser with these materials, further in vitro PDT activity is carried out and PDT efficiency is compared.
