A study of effect of multi-level ring strain inserted active plasticizers (APs) on plasticization, grafted rate and properties of azido-based energetic binders before and after curing was carried out. Six kinds of cycloalkanes based APs with distinct ring strain energy (RSE) were selected as energetic candidates for evaluation of configurational benefit from favorable contribution to energy performance than strain-free analogous plasticizers. Since migration and exudation of plasticizers were always attracted attention, a highly reliable and practical reaction, Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition, was employed as a coupling protocol to achieve the chemical connection with polymeric matrix. Plasticization effects of those APs on uncured azido prepolymers were evaluated by glass transition temperature (Tg) and viscosity.APs incorporated azido prepolymers-based PU energetic binders behaved perfect integrity which maintained or improved thermal stability in contrast to control PU binder. |
