PVA/PAAc/TiO2/graphene-PANI nanocomposites of improved photocatalytic activity for degradation of organic pollutants |

Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc)/TiO2/graphene- polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites were prepared for the wastewater purification applications. Both PVA and PAAc were used as polymeric matrices in order to recover photocatalyst easily after purification. PAAc was used especially for the pH-sensitive property of nanocomposites. Graphene was used to enhance the adsorption of pollutants. PANI was used to prevent the restacking of graphene and to improve the electron transferring from TiO2. Various compositions of graphene-PANI were investigated in order to confirm the optimum content of graphene-PANI for the improvement of photocatalytic activity of nanocomposite. The morphology and structure of nanocomposite were studied by scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by a UV spectrometer based on the degradation of model dye. |
