Effect of Side-Chain Structure on Performance of Comb-Like Polymers as Cold Flow Improvers for Diesel Fuel |
초록 |
Polymers with various side-chain structures were synthesized using free-radical polymerization and novolac‐type condensation polymerization. The performance of middle distillate flow improver (MDFI) was evaluated by measuring the cold properties (cloud point, cold filter plugging point, and pour point) of diesel containing the additives. Among them, a poly(3-pentadecylphenyl acrylate) was found to improve the all cold properties of diesel. However, other polymers having similar alkyl side chain structures showed insufficient performance. The wax crystallization profile from differential scanning calorimetry and the wax crystal morphology from polarized optical microscopy were investigated to explain the flow-improving performance of MDFI. |
