Biofuels from microalgae biomass (Aurantiochytrium sp. Tetraselmis sp.) was converted to biodiesel, bioject fuel and green diesel, and it was evaluated fuel characteristics by some test methods. Fuel properties of biodiesel from microalgae biomass was investigated 97 ~ 90 vol.% FAME (fatty acid methyl ester) contents by EN 14103 test method. Bio-jet fuel from Aurantiochytrium sp. showed challenging fuel characteristics by the ASTM D 7566 specification to apply jet fuel, compared to Jet fuel(Jet A-1). Green diesel from Aurantiochytrium sp. was investigated fuel properties by EN 15940 and showed good cetane number(69) due to a high n-paraffin contents, compared to automotive diesel. |
