A study on highly proton conducting crosslinked polymer electrolyte pore-filling membranes for polymer electrolyte fuel cells |
초록 |
Polymer electrolyte membranes consisting of various porous substrates pore-filled with a highly proton conducting crosslinked polymer electrolyte were prepared by UV radical polymerization and characterized on the properties for employing to polymer electrolyte fuel cells. The polymer electrolyte membranes prepared in this work have a very wide proton conductivity range of 0.03 0.1 S/cm depending on the composition ratio of an electrolyte monomer and crosslinking agent used for polymerization. These pore-filling membranes have also excellent properties such as smaller dimensional affects when swollen in solvents, higher mechanical strength, lower fuel crossover through the membranes, and easier preparation process than those of traditional cast membranes. The prepared membrane with 0.09 S/cm of proton conductivity was applied to fuel cell performances of PEMFC and DMFC, respectively. |
