Synthesis and characterization of thermo-sensitive Poly (N-vinyl caprolactam) grafted with sodium alginate hydrogel beads for the controlled release of 5-FU |
초록 |
Graft copolymers of sodium alginate (NaAlg) with N-vinyl caprolactam were prepared using ammonium persulphate as an initiator. The graft copolymers (NaAlg-g-PVNCL) were characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Polymeric hydrogel beads of NaAlg and NaAlg-g-PVNC were prepared by crosslinking method using glutaraldehyde (GA) as a crosslinker in the hydrochloric acid catalyst (HCl) and these beads were used to deliver anti-cancer drug, 5-FU. In vitro release studies were performed in simulated intestinal fluid (pH 7.4) at different temperatures 25oc, 37oc for 12h. |
