Redox-responsive fluorescent carbon nanoparticle (FCN) was prepared by carbonization of disulfide cross-linked hyaluronic acid and was attached by MnO2 nanosheets which will quenching effect by Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) mechanism. In the presence of glutathione (GSH) unattached from the paclitaxel (PTX)-MnO2/FCN structure followed by the recovery of FCN fluorescence intensity while simultaneously cleaved the disulfide bonds which trigger paclitaxel release. Additionally, the PTX-MnO2/FCN structure exhibited stable intensity after GSH treatment demonstrating its capability as a biosensor. Furthermore, PTX-MnO2/FCN also showed good cell viability to normal cells and selective to tumor cells, which highlighted the therapeutic capabilities of this system. Finally, the developed PTX-MnO2/FCN structure can serve as a smart drug delivery system with combined diagnostic and therapeutic properties, good selectivity, and compatibility. |
