We synthesized angiogenic metal nanoparticles (AMN) using a galvanic replacement reaction of Cu NPs and Au precursors to stabilize and upregulate intracellular and intercellular behavior in human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs). Our novel therapeutic AMN has low mitochondrial damage, reduced ATP consumption, reduced cytotoxicity, weak reactive oxygen species production with enhanced angiogenic paracrine factor secretion, and improved hypoxia-inducing factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α). Through improved expression of HIF-1α, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) secretion was prolonged for 3 days even in reattached hADSCs. |
