SERS nanoprobes have been developed for biological applications such as biosensing or bioimaging. To improve the sensitivity of SERS nanoprobes, generating SERS Hot spots, nanogaps between noble metal nanostructures, drew a lot of interests. Herein, we report a simple method for inducing hot spots on silica NP by introducing silver NPs close to each other. These hot spots can be made under mild reaction condition and there is no need to use any reducing agents. We modified the surface of silica NP with PEG derivatives and others, and introduced silver NPs on each silica NP by utilizing the metal-ion-stabilizing effect. |
