We design and synthesized two types of carbazole substituted phenylquinoline (PhQ) based fullerene acceptor derivatives for photovoltaic cell applications. The synthesized 9-hexyl-3-(4-phenylquinoline-2-yl)-9H-carbazole-6-C61-butric acid methyl ester (PhQHCVz-C61BM) and 9-(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl)-3-(4-phenylquinoline-2-yl)-9H-carbazole-6-C61-butric acid methylester (PhQEOCVz-C61BM) were showed higher LUMO energy level of -3.57 and -3.61 eV and higher thermal stability 483 and 425 °C, respectively. The Organic photovoltaic device was fabricated with the configuration of ITO/MoO3/P3HT:acceptor/LiF/Al using PhQHCVz-C61BM and PhQEOCVz-C61BM as an acceptor. The P3HT: PhQHCVz-C61BM (1:1, 1.5 wt%) blend based device shows the best performance with PCE of 2.27%, Jsc of 6.40 mA/cm2, Voc of 0.62 V, and FF of 58%. |
