제목 Improved Osteogenic Property of Ti3C2 MXene-Coated Ti by Electrophoretic Deposition
초록 Titanium (Ti) and its alloys exhibit excellent biocompatibility, but their osteogenic properties are limited. Therefore, to improve the osteogenic property, an electrophoretic deposition (EPD) technique was used to coat the Ti surface with Ti3C2 MXene (Ti3C2), a new class of two-dimensional nanomaterial. To avoid the anodic oxidation of Ti surface during the EPD process, cathodic oxidation was carried out. For the cathodic oxidation, pH value of Ti3C2 suspension was adjusted by adding HCl and positively charged Ti3C2 was obtained. SEM and AFM images showed that Ti surface was uniformly covered by a layer with a particulate microstructure after EPD coating of Ti3C2. XRD and Raman spectroscopy confirmed that the coating layer was Ti3C2 phase. The in vitro biocompatibility and osteogenic properties of the Ti3C2-coated Ti were studied using human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). The number of attached hMSCs and the level of the cell proliferation on the Ti3C2-coated Ti were similar to those on the bare Ti. Alkaline phosphatase activity and Alizarin Red S staining results indicated that the osteogenic property of Ti was significantly improved by electrophoretical deposition of Ti3C2.
