제목 | Reversible wettability switch of textured Al doped ZnO thin films under UV irradiation |
초록 | ZnO is a wide direct band gap (3.27eV) semiconductor, with an absorption edge in the UV range. Several groups have reported the superhydrophlic properties of ZnO thin films and nano-structures under UV irradiation, similar to TiO2. Al doped ZnO (AZO) is well known for the application for transparent conductive oxide. Recently, some group reported the application of AZO films for anti-fogging windows, due to the electric heating effect. The texturing of AZO films by a simple acid treatment also has been reported to enhance the light scattering effect in solar cells. However, no paper has been published in the wettability behavior of the textured AZO thin films. AZO thin films were prepared on glass substrate by pulsed DC sputtering. The as prepared films were then etched with dilute hydrochloric acid (0.5% HCl in H2O). As a result, the films developed textured surfaces that depended on their original structural properties. Contact angle before and after UV irradiation was measured to shows the transition from superhydrophobic state to superhydrophilic state. Also the annealing ambient effect has been studied. |
