Microstructure of Cu-YSZ cermets prepared by solid-state reaction for SOFCs |
초록 |
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are the most efficient type of fuel cells because of their high operating temperatures and high energy conversion efficiency, which provide them flexibility to various types of fuels such as methane. The CuO-YSZ (yttria stabilized zirconia) mixed powders were sintered at 1100-1300 °C and reduced at 900-1100 °C to produce Cu-YSZ cermets. The crystal structure and morphology of the cermets were analyzed by an X-ray diffraction (XRD) and a field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), respectively. A porous microstructure consisting of homogeneously distributed Cu and YSZ phases was found, along with well-connected grains. It was found that the open porosity, thermal expansion, and bending strength of the cermets depended strongly on the concentration of Cu. |
