제목 Preparation and Characterization of Porous Carbon by Different Activation Agents
초록 In this work, porous carbon materials with high porosity were manufactured from polystyrene-based cation-exchangeable resion (PSI) by the chemical activations with KOH, NaOH, and LiOH as the activation agents for the investigation of the activation ability of the each agent. Surface properties of the porous carbons were determined by the FT-IR and XPS, and their morpologies were done by the SEM. N2/77K adsorption isotherms were investigated by BET and D-R plot methods to characterize the specific surface areas, pore volumes, and pore size distribution of the porous carbons manufactured. As experimental results, it was found that the porous carbons by the KOH activation showed the highest level of the specific surface area and total pore volume. However, the pore size distribution of the micropores of each sample leaned to the left side from the KOH- to LiOH-activated carbon. This result indicates that each activation agent develops different sizes of micropores, and it probably has some relationship with the ion size of the each agents.
