제목 | Sol-Gel Transition Behavior of Thermoreversible Biodegradable Triblock Copolymer of PEO-(aliphatic polyester)-PEO Aqueous Solution |
초록 | A new type of biodegradable polymeric material is investigated, which shows thermoreversible gel-sol transition behavior with varying temperature in the adequately concentrated aqueous solution. Thermoreversible sol-gel transition behavior is commonly observed in poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-poly(propylene oxide)(PPO)-PEO triblock copolymer aqueous solution system. The sol-gel transition characteristics in PEO/PPO/PEO aqueous solution is attributed to the variation of hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity balance with varying temperature. In the present study, triblock copolymer was synthesized by replacing the PPO, the hydrophobic block in PEO/PPO/PEO, with the hydrophobic biodegradable poly(ethylene succinate), poly(propylene succinate), poly(butylene succinate), and copolymer of poly(ethylene succinate) and poly(butylene succinate). The effect of the molecular weight, the hydrophobicity and the crystallinity of middle block on the gel-sol phase transition behavior of triblock copolymer aqueous system and other physical properties was investigated. |
