제목 Synthesis of bio-based adhesive materials from isosorbide and dihydroxymethylfuran and verification of their photo-curing properties
초록 Unpredictable oil price in current market and a possibly huge cost on CO2 emission in near future alert petroleum-based chemical industry to change its paradigm. Carbohydrate biomass is most abundant and widely distributed feedstock and many efforts were made to transform carbohydrate into useful chemicals. In particular, dehydrated compounds of carbohydrates such as isosorbide and dihydroxymethylfuran are among most promising platform to apply various materials. In this study, we prepared photo-curable adhesive materials from isosorbide and dihydroxymethylfuran and verified their feasibility of photo-curable adhesive materials. Photo-curing behaviors including curing rate and shrinkage ratio were measured using photo-DSC and linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) transducer. Lap shear strength was tested after photo-curing to see adhesive power. VOC emissions of the synthetic bio-based chemicals during and after photo-curing will be also addressed.
