All-Polymer Phototransistors with Bulk Heterojunction Layers of p-type and n-type Conjugated Polymers |

Optical sensors, which are based on conjugated organic semiconductors, have been gradually studied with keen interest due to several advantages including wide freedom of material selection, easy tuning of detection ranges, and low-cost fabrication of large-area sensor modules on flexible plastic substrates. When it comes to the array driving principle, transistor-type organic optical sensors have more benefits than diode-type. On this account, organic phototransistors have been studied but the channel layers have been fabricated with either p- or n-type organic semiconductors. Hence we made idea to apply both p- and n-type organic semiconductors for organic phototransistors. In particular, we created new category “all-polymer phototransistors” by introducing all-polymer BHJ layers. In this presentation, we will show our second work on all-polymer phototransistors, which have an extended light detection range compared to our original report and are fabricated with flexible substrates. |
