In this research, the radiation crosslinking of polylactide (PLA) films containing various crosslinking agents (CAs) was studied. PLA films containing different CAs were crosslinked using electron beam irradiation at various absorbed doses, and the crosslinked PLA films were then investigated in terms of their crosslinking degree and thermal and mechanical properties. Based on the results of the crosskining degree measurements, triallyl isocyanurate at a concentration of 5 wt% was found to be the most effective for the radiation crosslinking of PLA. The thermal and mechanical properties of the crosslinked PLA films were greatly improved in comparison with those of a control film. |
