Drug delivery system of anticancer drug using multifunctional polymer |

In this study, anticancer drug was conjugated to multifunctional polymer (MPD) through acid-cleavable linkage. In addition, target ligand was modified to MPD (TLMPD) for effective cancer therapy. The characterization of TLMPD was confirmed by 1H-NMR, DLS, and HPLC. Evaluation of cell cytotoxicity and antitumor activity was performed by MTT assay. Antitumor activity of TLMPD was higher than that of free anticancer drug. From theses results, we identified that TLMPD could release anticancer drug at endosomal pH due to acid-cleavable linkage. In addition, the uptake efficiency of TLMPD into cancer cell could be enhanced by receptor mediated endocytosis.
