To synthesize speciality oligomers required for the fabrication of dispersant, one of the controlled / living free radical polymerization, RAFT polymerization was used. As reaction media, Supercritical carbondioxide, which has both environmentally friendly property and tunable solvent-power was used. In order to do this research, Reaction experiment equipments were designed and constructed for supercritical polymerization. Additionally, the RAFT agent, cumyl dithiobenzoate(CDB) was synthesized for RAFT polymerization. Hydrophobic MMA(methyl methacrylate) and AIBN(α,α'-azobisisobutyronitrile) were used as monomer and initiator. As a result of this study, the Mn(molecular weight) and PDI(polydispersity) was verified as numerical value of around 5,500 and 1.2, depending on the variation of reactans mole-ratio(momomer, initiator, RAFT agent), reaction time, and CO2vol.% of supercritical carbondioxide. |
