In recent years, the quantity of domestic waste has increased significantly in the worldwide raising the question of its sustainable disposal management. Most of the waste has been disposed by incineration and landfill, which causes many problems in the aspects of environment. To solve theses problems, the Gasification process has emerged as a new alternative for waste treatment process of existing systems. The mixture gases produced from the gasification of municipal waste contain various contaminants such as dust, tar and so on. Tar, especially cause trouble with process in using of the gases. Therefore, it must be removed by purification of the gases. Typical tar formations are benzene, naphthalene, pyrene and phenanthrene. A detailed analytical work on the composition and chemical structure of tar will be advantageous to its processing and utilization, and enable it to be a chemical and materials of great value. In this work, we study GC/MS analysis of tar composition produced from waste gasification. Quantitative determination of each compound is performed by GC analysis using internal standard method. |
