제목 | Preparation and Electro-optic Characterization of Heterocyclic Nonlinear Optical Chromophores Composed of Phenothiazine Donor and 2-Cyanomethylene-3-cyano-4,5,5-trimethyl-2,5-dihydrofuran Acceptor |
초록 | Organic nonlinear optical (NLO) materials provide strong potential advantages for second harmonic generation and electro-optic applications and are considered as most promising candidates for application in electro-optic and photonic devices. In this study, we introduced heterocyclic ring compounds such as 2-cyanomethylene-3-cyano-4,5,5-trimethyl-2,5-dihydrofuran (TCF) and phenothiazine as an electron acceptor and donor to induce high dipole moment (µ), first-order molecular hyperpolarizability (ß), and their product(µß). Additional donor of diethylaminostyryl group was also tethered to phenothaizine that also can play as conjugative bridge. The effect of conjugation length and gradient donor system was investigated on the microscopic nonlinear optical properties and the energy states. Electro-optic (EO) properties of the guest-host systems in amorphous polycarbonate containing the synthesized chromophores were investigated with the real time pole and probe method. |
