Combinational MicroRNA Therapy with Specific Cell-Penetrating Peptide conjugated bPEI as Gene Carrier for Metastatic Breast Cancer |

Therapeutic gene delivery researches have focused on the development of highly efficient gene delivery carrier, including the modification of gene carrier with cell-penetrating peptide (CPP). The miRNA are major regulators of genes through binding to the 3’untranslated region of messenger RNAs and blocking the degradation.In this study, we conjugated newly identified cellular penetrating peptide, which was found to be highly specific to breast cancer and conjugated to cationic gene carrier for achieving enhanced intracellular uptake. The transfection efficiency and cytotoxicity of the carrier has been studied with metastatic breast cancer cells and non-metastatic breast cancer cells. There was a strong suppression of the metastatic metastatic breast cancer when treated with combination therapeutic miR/CPP-bPEI nanoparticles. Our results it is evident that CPP mediated delivery of therapeutic miR has turned out to be an effective treatment with specificity for metastatic breast cancer. |
