제목 Studies on Synthesis of Polyphenylene Ethers for Improving Their Thermal Resistance and Reducing the Formation of Diphenoquinone Byproduct
초록 At the meeting the synthesis and characterization of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether) (hereafter: PPE) will be discussed. Previously, the proper experimental conditions for high molecular weight PPE synthesis were presented. Under those proper experimental conditions synthesis of end-capped PPE with controlled molecular weight has been performed by incorporating 2,4,6-trimethyl phenol (TMP) and their thermal stability was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Efforts for reducing the amount of diphenoquinone (DPQ) were also made.
