제목 High Photocatalytic Performance of g-C3N4 nanosheets for Rhodamine B Degradation under Visible Light Irradiation
초록 Graphitic carbon nitrides (g-C3N4) have received much attention as metal-free and visible-light-response photocatalyst in energy conversion and environmental treatment. However, the fast recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, its photocatalytic performance seems not to achieve as expected. In our study, g-C3N4 nanosheets were synthesized by a one-step thermal treatment at 550 °C in atmosphere involving polymerization of melamine in the presence of NH4Cl. The g-C3N4 nanosheets exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance in the rhodamine B (RhB) degradation under visible light irradiation with about 99% RhB removal after 210 min, as compared to bulk g-C3N4. The effect of catalyst dosage, pH and RhB concentration on the efficiency of photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4 nanosheets was also investigated. The improvement in photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4 nanosheets could be given by the synergism of absorption of visible light confirmed by UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra and the increased lifetime as evidenced by photoluminescence spectra.
