Bis(3-aminophenyl)phenyl phosphine oxide (mDAPPO) was utilized to prepare polyimides with PMDA and BPDA via a conventional two-step synthesis; preparation of poly(amic-acid), followed by solution imidization. Then, these polyimides were modified via copolymerization with pPDA in order to afford CTE of 17ppm. The polyimides were designed to have a molecular weight of 25,000 g/mol and characterized by FT-IR, DSC and TGA. In addition, intrinsic viscosity, solubility and coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) were also measured. Adhesion properties of polyimides were evaluated via T-Peel test with silane/Cr-coated Cu foils, and failure surfaces were investigated with SEM. |
