Investigation of Charging Characteristics for Lithium Ion Battery Using Semi-Modules of Polymer Solar Cells |

Polymer solar cells (PSCs) have been widely studied and their power conversion efficiency has recently reached 10~13%, even though the stability issue is still a hurdle to be resolved for commercialization. On this account, most studies have been focused on the efficiency and stability improvement through development of new materials and device architectures. However, in order to diversify the application of PSCs, various application technologies should be gradually developed because PSCs are different from inorganic solar cells. In particular, very limited research has been reported on how efficiently and stably the electricity produced by PSCs can be transferred to energy storage devices such as rechargeable battery. Recently, our group has concentrated on the electrical characteristics of semi-modules based on PSCs. Here we present the charging/discharging characteristics of lithium ion batteries by integrating semi-modules of PSCs. |
