Synthesis and Photophysical Study of Solution-Processible Multi-component Iridium Phosphor for High-Efficiency Green OLED |

The synthesis and photophysical study of multifunctional phosphorescent dendric iridium complex with a bulky carbazole substituent is reported. Ir(c-ppy)3 and (c-ppy)2Ir(acac) exhibited the luminescence peak at 511 nm and 533 nm, respectively. An organic light emitting diode with the structure of ITO/PEDOT/Ir(c-ppy)3 (or dopping in PVK)/BCP/Alq3/Liq/Al using the newly synthesized Ir(c-ppy)3 as green dopant-emitter was fabricated. These devices can produce a maximum current efficiency of 25cd/A and power efficiency of 14.6 lm/W. The brightness and turn on voltage of the device were measured to be 1073 cd/m2 at 4.4 V. The device exhibited green emission. Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage (CIE) Chromaticity Coordinates (0.30, 0.59) and (0.31, 0.61) for doped and undoped, respectively. - This research was supported by a grant from the Fundamental R&D Program for Core Technology of Materials funded by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, Republic of Korea |
