제목 | Isolation and characterization of progenitor cells from adult rat kidneys for Tissue regeneration. |
초록 | The kidney is an essential organ which produces urine and plays a role in blood pressure control. The major components of kidney are generated from kidney progenitor cells during fetal life. However, those cells are lost before or soon after birth when kidney development is completed. This is one of the major reasons why the kidney cannot be regenerated once it has lost functionality. Stem cell-based therapy is a new strategy in the treatment due to the highly versatile response of cells to their environment. These cells may not only differentiate to other cell types depend on the environments but participate in angiogenesis to facilitate tissue regeneration. In this study, here we found that progenitor cells in adult kidney were still remained. Isolated progenitor cells were expressed stem cell markers such as CD90, CD44, and CD29, the same as Bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells. And those cell markers were existed not only in certain region, but also in kidney cortex. Those cells had a multi-potency which was able to differentiate to different cell types depends on environmental conditions. Taken together, it could be used making scaffolds with immobilized progenitor cells, and it also could be applied novel strategy for injured tissue regeneration. |
