Determination of the Kinetics of Magenta Ink Bleaching with Calcium Hypochlorite |

Effluent from the ink industry is highly contaminated with ink dyes and pigments. We try to determine the kinetics for Magenta ink bleaching by calcium hypochlorite. The effects of different system parameters such as pH and reaction temperature are considered for the study of kinetics. Solution of magenta ink in water is mixed with fixed amount of calcium hypochlorite for degradation of ink dye. Degradation rate is analyzed using UV-Vis spectroscopy and elemental analysis is done by XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy). |
